News (6 June 2009)
Well we have just had half term and what a lovely sunny week it was and we had some regulars back to share the week with us, they were Bunner and Pebbles. We also had some new visitors and their pictures are below, Averil & Pink (below middle) then a family of father Toffee (middle left) and his children Little Dipper (middle right), Leader (bottom left) & Sniffles (bottom right).
In March we had a return visit from Penny and in April return visits from Ebbie, Hoppy and then in May we had Lola and George back with us again.
I find it very inspiring to have the same bunnies visit time and again, this gives me great pleasure to know that you all feel confident and happy to leave your lovely bunnies with me and I enjoy their company greatly, but don't tell my bunnies that!
News (20 February 2009)
Please do not forget if you need to book for your summer holiday, particularly during August, book early to avoid disappointment.
Since Christmas and the lovely cold weather, my bunnies have been moved into our workshop for added protection from the cold and even spent a week indoors when the temperatures stayed below freezing.
They have now had a few days back out in their runs and Bambi decided to dig a nice hole the other day because the grass and ground is so soft, Honey in the hutch did not seemed bothered (below left) and Loki and Loren just chilled out in their run (below right)
Since the end of the summer we have had a several return visits from Ebbie, Benny, Pebbles, George and Lola - thank you all for returning.
We had a new visitor over Christmas to keep Pebbles company his name is Percy (below left)
We have just had half term and this week we have had Pebbles and Percy return as well as Bunner and we had a new visitor stay at the weekend, a lovely little dwarf rabbit called Penny (below right). It got very confusing for a time with all their names beginning with P, Pebbles, Percy and Penny.
News (5 September 2008)
We have now come to the end of the so called "summer" and our busy school holiday period.
Firstly, we lost one of our own rabbits at the end of July due to respiartory problems, she died in my arms, she was 4yrs 5mths old. She had a lovely life with us, as she was one of Loren's babies who we kept, so we had known her all her life and have loads of photo's and lots of video to remember her by.
Our news page is now named after her in dedication to her.
Our visitor's during July and August have been, Bunner (who featured in July's news), Sparkle and Dazzle (below)
We had four Rex rabbits stay, Rosie Pippin & Daniel San (left) and Bambi & Apricot (right), here for the most of August.
Sammy and Benny, who although are brothers, have had a falling out so had to be housed separately.
Lola & Hoppy who both stayed with us in May returned for a few days in August.
Pebbles and Ebbie below, both only young rabbits came for visit. Ebbie came for a four day "try out" as she had got really stressed the last time she was left with a boarder, but happily to say we kept a very close eye on her and she was fine and happly when she went home and she will be returning in September.
Our final visitor's in August were Fluff, George and Gerri
We had mixed weather during these months, luckily all rabbits managed to get a decent amount of run time (approx 3 hours) each day, except for just one or two days when the rain never stopped, some of our visitors had dry time in the workshop listening to Radio 2, not sure if that changed any of their personalities!!
There was not much thumping going on, except for one or two of the boys at times and all the rabbits seemed to show no signs of stress or upset, being so close to other rabbits, even my rabbits seemed to accept the fact that they were sharing their garden - least to say, mine have now all been back running round and checking that no rabbit has been abandoned here forever!!
May I thank all the bunnies for being such lovely guests and all the mummies, daddies and children for letting them come to stay.
See you all soon & don't forget book early to afford disappointment.
News (8 July 2008)
It has now been two months since we set up our holiday boarding for rabbits.
We had our first guest (Lola, below) at the beginning of May, she stayed for the bank holiday weekend and luckily the sun shone and she had a nice time in the garden. Our bunnies were a bit wary at first of the visitor, but after 10 minutes, all were relaxed again.
We had three bunnies (Hoppy (left), Strippey & Sniffles) stay for the May half term week, again the weather was kind and they all had time in the garden and even Hoppy's Grandma came to visit to make sure she was ok.
We are now coming into a busy period because of the summer school holidays.
Our recent visitors have been (Rosie (left) & Bunner)
We will have ten rabbits staying with us through July & August.
To cope with the high demand we have increased our number of hutches to six. (4 x 4ft & 2 x 5ft hutches)
We will not increase our number of hutches further, so we can maintain our promise to offer each bunny a home from home environment and treat them as if they are our own.
